Coming Up: World Usability Day (NOV 3)

Ever heard of the Usability Professionals' Association (UPA)? I hadn't until today. Turns out they have created their own DAY: World Usability Day, which takes place every year on November 3. The DAY is supposed to "promote awareness of the benefits of usability engineering and user-centered design, Earth Day style" (UPA Homepage). There will be a Canadian World Usability Day event held in Ottawa called the "e-Gov Showcase" which will "[bring] together government, industry and usability professionals to share their experiences of designing applications and services to meet user needs."

Hi - one small clarification. This is the FIRST World Usability Day, and it may not be on November 3rd in 2006. But there will be one in 2006 and it will some time near early November.
